When did it all start?
It started about October 2002 when Damo's birthday was near and he was gettin a guitar so we decided why not form a band! Great idea likes it was just an idea we thought of when we were up the street one shitty day! Tell me what day isn't shitty in Moffat? 1with !ArEa#CoDE!
Where did the name come from?
This was just something that popped into Damo's head whilst we were thinking of names! Then we just played around and got the form of the name! Before
!ArEa#CoDE! we had thought of stuff like the scary fences or disturbed police n stupid stuff with no quality!
Has this always been the line up?
Nah no way when we started out it was like Smith on lead guitar, Damo on rythym guitar and sort of singin and some other kid we employed who played guitar as well! No bassist or drummer, fucking strange or what!
So when did it all change and why?
Erm... It was probabably about December of '02 that we changed to the current line up! It happened coz we sacked the kid guitarist coz he was more harm than good! Damo then became Guiatrist and vocalist coz his voice improved and Smith picked up a bass at sum neighbours house and played quite well! So he gets a bass plays bass learns some stuff, and then wait for it mike is added to the line up completing our band! woohooo result, but the little shit left to play in a radiohead tribute band, (FUCK HIM)
So what was rival bands/peoples initial oppinion of yous?
At first people thought we were dire and just complete wankers, although that could be coz we were dire back then but we have came along a long way and improved so much! Now the rivals/people think we are kool and generally accept us simply coz the fact that they prejudged us i thinks and they had never really heard us! But back then when their were 3 guitarists we were shit!
How did yous gain the reputation that yous have now?
Its all down to hard fucking work and believe me it has paid off, as I said we were shit at the start but long hard practises have paid off. Another factor is we invite people to our practises, they come and hear us and then spread the fucking word it helps us get support and get fans and has worked! We also just worked our balls off for a while to try and improve, as we have the gig this helped to push us!
Yous haven't played a gig yet but yous have fans?
Yeah that was strange at first but its kool hearing them talking bout yous and just generally telling everyone that we are kool! I think that having fans is important as they put you their and without them we'd not be here!
